This blog post goes out to the boys of summer…everything from athletic’s to academics are over in the Laredo area, but not these boys…This is my 2nd year shooting the Alexander Bulldogs baseball team pictures and this is the 2nd year they are doing fantastic in the playoffs! I’m starting to think their photographer might be their lucky charm! Good luck to the Dawgs on their Thursday night playoff game at Uni-Trade stadium…you can bet your bottom dollar that I’ll be there to cover every inning of it. Good luck guys!
South All-Stars photo day on monday, North on Tuesday and program ready for game day on Saturday?? WHY NOT?! It was a crazy experience shooting back to back days and designing a program literally overnight to have it printed and ready for Saturday big game. Spent Monday night with a couple local media buddies in San Antonio covering Game 1 of the Thunder vs. Spurs. Talk about the chance of a lifetime to not only get to shoot some NBA action from the baseline, but for it to be a Western Conference Final game just adds more to the experience in itself. I was asked to move from one spot to another a couple times before finally being moved out of the photographers area entirely due to the fact that the court was full of big time photographers from the NBA, AP, ESPN, TNT & Sports Illustrated. I got to shoot the entire first quarter and half of the 2nd quarter before joining my friends Ryan Bailey of Pro 8 News and Bryan Benway of KLNT-ESPN Radio (The Bryan Benway Show). Can’t wait to shoot some more NBA and hopefully some NFL and Collegiate football in the future….here are a few of the shot was I was able to get in the little time I had on the court. Enjoy!
As a many of you may know I’m big into sports so I decided to take the night off catch some Laredo Lemurs action at the new Uni-Trade Stadium for fun…can’t wait to go back and get some more when the stadium is all done and maybe get a few shots from the sky in a helicopter! Basketball has always and will always be my favorite sport. This year my good friend Michael Blake invited me along to capture the men’s basketball season. I made lots of good friends along the way with both the team and staff. I tried to capture what was a spectacular and exciting season and show Laredo what a great basketball team Coach Rinner and his coaching staff have put together. Again a big thank you to everyone who was apart of the TAMIU basketball program for allowing me to capture my favorite sport at a high level. I’d like to share with you a memory book of some of my favorite photographs from the entire season along with Mike’s game recaps that help put the story together.
