Lizzy & Jaime E-Shoot

Jamie is a long time friend of mine dating back from the high school basketball days when we couldnt’ stand each other since we played on opposite teams.  I can’t believe time has flown so fast that a lot of my friends are having children or getting married! Jaime & Lizzie came to me to shoot their wedding and I told them ABSOLUTELY!  We got to thinking though and I would really like to enjoy this moment with them and all our friends that would be attending the wedding, so as I did shoot their engagement session and will be shooting Lizzie’s bridal soon I will not be shooting their wedding.  My good friend Jesus M. Garcia will be shooting this one for me so that I can kick back and enjoy the celebration.  Here are some of my personal favs from their recent summer e-shoot!

Babie Ellie – 1st Birthday

Baby Ellie came in for some classic cake portraits and not only did she love the cake, she was offering everyone a piece.  I really enjoy working with kids and love to capture these precious memories.  We’ve destroyed more cakes than any other studio in town and Ellie was behind the latest chocolate flavored victim!

Salinas Backyard Family Portraits

When it comes to family portraits, I prefer to take them at the family’s residence, whether it be inside, in front or in the backyard I feel it makes the family feel more at ease and comfortable.  The colors and textures also bring out their personalities since it’s their home.  I shot the Salinas family earlier this June and had a blast not only cause we got to hit some golf balls on the course after the shoot but because I love these boys.  When I was a kid Danny (the father) was my little league baseball coach…fast forward several years and now I’ve had the opportunity to coach his boys basketball teams at Mary Help.  I’ve grown close to this family which makes it all the more special to shoot.  My wife and I have a 2 year old girl and another girl on the way…I think I’m headed down the same road as the Salinas family only instead of 3 boys, it’s going to be 3 girls! Ha Ha!  My hats off to Mrs. Salinas in raising 5 boys, and I say 5 because Mr. Salinas and his dog Buddy.

Boys will be Boys…

Martha Debutante – Gabriela

Get a colorful location and a beautiful family together and it’s not too difficult to get some beautiful images.  Gabriela will be featured in this years WBCA Society of Martha Washington and I have the privilege of following her around all year to create one of my favorite products…a hard bound custom memory book filled with a photo story of her adventure in this years Debutante Court.

Jeanette & Mario E-Session

In my previous blog post, one couple got married…and in this one someones getting married.  Let me introduce you to a beautiful couple in which I am eager to shoot their wedding next month in July.  So far this couple has been a red couple, and what I mean by that is Mario wore a red shirt for his engagement pictures, while Jeanette (a nurse) took her bridal by a Fire Engine since Mario is a Fire Fighter. Ha Ha! Now we know why this couple likes red! Now on to the Red pictures!

Erika & David Wedding

Well summer is just about halfway through and it was awesome being able to take some time off. Got a beach house for a week with the fam for some relaxation, we’ve also taken a few trips in between to SA, Austin, & San Marcos for some baby shopping as we’re expecting our 2nd in August.  In between it all we’ve painted and decorated the new nursery and home office which has all taken me away from the busy lifestyle of a photographer.  So now I’m back! Time to revive the blog with some summer weddings, engagements, baseball action, baby & family portraits! To kick start the blog I’m going to share my a wedding I shot not to long ago with this lovely couple. Here’s a few shots of some wedding fun!

Senior Portraits w/Joseph

Joseph is part of the Alexander High ROTC and while taking his senior portraits he bought his badass bulldog along.  I must say, it’s got to be pretty cool to have a pet bulldog when that’s your schools mascot.  Joseph was a trooper in wearing his lettermen jacket in this 100+ degree heat as we took his portraits just recently in June.

Senior Portraits w/Vanessa

I neglect my blog from time to time, but I’m going to bring it back some color and life to it today with a beautiful Nixon Senior.  Vanessa was a star Basketball & Softball player for the Nixon Mustangs this past year and when she came in for her shoot she was nailing her smiles and poses as if she had been practicing in front of a mirror. We won’t tell anyone she was but according to her mom she did practice. (That’s just between me and my blog followers:P)  Anyhow, here are some shots of Vanessa on campus, in studio & in action. Enjoy!

Senior Memory Books – Freddy Juarez

First of all, congratulations to Freddy on all his accomplishments including on being named the 2011 29-5A District MVP.  I’d like to share a photo of Freddy’s Senior Memory Book and the 35 softcover copies he will be handing out to his friends and family. Best of luck on your new basketball venture with the TAMIU program!
