Tuesday Sports w/956 Unlimited

Three spreads in this weeks edition of 956 Unlimited! Photos in the Stalllions page were taken by Andy Segovia, Bert Kiefer, & Jesus Garcia.  I have coached these guys for several years now and am excited to have some action shots of them on their final year in a Stallions uniform.

WBCA Martha Debutante Laura & Emmanuel

Finally I can show you these pictures!  Whether it’s a Martha Debutante or Pocahontas Princess, the costumes are kept top secret from the general public until they are unveiled the day of their respected pageants.  I had the special privilege and honor of being able to photograph Laura & Emmanuel (Curly) who are part of the 2011 Martha Washington Debutante Court.  I can’t even begin to explain the amount of detail & time that goes into making this young lady’s dress.  I have been following Laura & Curly all year long as they are also JS Seniors this year.  Martha is a cheerleader for St. Aug High School and Curly plays baseball for the Varsity St. Aug Knights.  This is just one of the many photos shoots that we have held for their senior memory book. Here are a few pictures of this lovely couple and the entire group of people that helped put this together.  Thank you to everyone who helped from hair, makeup, getting Laura in and out of her dress and everything in between! Enjoy!

Princess Pocahontas Printed Program 2011

For the year 2011, I was given the great honor of being able to design the 306 page Printed Program for the Princess Pocahontas Council.  Before I begin to tell you about the amount of hours and hard work that went into getting this book completed I would like to thank Carlos Rene Ramirez Jr. of Xtreme Point for helping come up with this unique design and Clair Lopez for assisting me throughout the entire process of getting this book done.  I would also like to thank President San Juanita Torres for giving me the opportunity to design this one of a kind book.  I would also like to thank the lovely ladies who helped finalize the book, Mrs. Pat Martinez, Mrs. Ma. Elena Aguero, Mrs. Ma Christina Dovalina, & Mrs. Rita Rodriguez.  Every single page in this book is assigned with a specific photo, sponsor, and message from the sponsor along with the names of the individuals whom are being featured in the particular page.  The people who participate in this pageant put a lot of time, effort, and money towards the detailing of the costumes.  I felt their book should also include some detail giving the book a modern feel while still keeping the traditional format intact.

With that being said, the theme this year was “Jewels of Mother Earth”.  Each Princess was given a designated jewel to represent which can be found on their indivdual and group photos giving each of their pages a uniqueness to them.  I would like to share with you some photos of the book itself, the cover design, along with a few pages from the inside of the book.

I also do not take credit for the photos represented in my designs.  These were my designs but photos were taken by various photographers in which the couples personally hired.

The kids all huddled up in a corner together as they go through the book for the first time.

Quince Portraits w/Klare

I’d like to share Karissa’s two favorite pics from the bunch we took just about week ago.  It was a warm day under the January sun in Laredo. Yep…January.  I guess that’s the good thing about living in warm weather almost year round is that the weather is pretty predictable here when you schedule photo shoots. We took several pictures of Klare in her Qunice dress and a bunch of casual shots as well.  I can’t wait to photograph Klare’s Quince and post the pictures on the blog! Here’s the sneak peak!

E-Session with Cristina & Jorge

Time to change the pace of the blog a little today with a fresh engagement session.  When I first talked to Cristina she wanted to take her pictures somewhere in the downtown area.  She liked the feel and look of the old buildings but as her day arrived for her photo shoot we remembered Laredo was having it’s annual Jamboozie downtown.  There was no way we were going to go into that circus and try to take pictures so instead of rescheduling I figured why not my studio?  Right here at the French Quarter and the next door Times Square plaza’s we have lots of different types of brick, rock and colors.  I told her if she didn’t like them we would schedule another shoot for a different weekend.  These pictures were literally taken outside my studio door and less than a block away from my studio.  Cristina & Jorge are one of the most down to earth couples I have met and cannot wait to cover their wedding day!  This time around, here’s a few of Tina’s fav’s…Enjoy!
